What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is more than just a fitness routine; it is an exercise which can create lifelong wellness. You may keep up with any other exercise that you do and simply add Tai Chi to your exercise regime. You can practice Tai Chi almost anywhere, anytime and with anyone. It requires no special equipment and all you need is a clear, focus and relax mind to enjoy the beauty and endless benefits of what Tai Chi can bring for you. The slow motion and fluidity of the movements allows the body to learn the optimal state of harmony (co-ordination), thus achieving a perfect state of relaxation.

Tai Chi is an increasingly popular exercise because it is enjoyable and beneficial for health. Suitable exercise is an important part of the prevention & treatment for people with chronic disease such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Diabetes etc.

How does Tai Chi works?

Tai Chi works by strengthening the muscles, improved balance, improving range of motion around the joints, reducing falls, and enhancing years of quality lifestyle.

The leveling of the pelvis with pushing of the belly button towards your spine creates a stabilizing force: pain or soreness in the shoulder, back, hips, IT band, and feet can all be addressed by holding the pelvis level and engaging the core muscles while practicing Tai Chi to creating balance in the mind and body.

You owe it to yourself by engaging the best training in order to take 1 step nearer or even superseding your fitness goals. Living healthy and enhancing your quality of life has never been more convenient!

Over the years, we have reached out to many students from all parts of the world, which include Spain, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Denmark, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, South Africa etc... with different races and genders, from young to the old. They have one thing in common, that is to seek a healthier lifestyle with our Tai Chi fitness program.

In NewAge, it is all about personal touch when it comes to coaching. We are happy that more and more people are reaping the benefits from practicing Tai Chi.

What makes Tai Chi Special?

There are four main features of Tai Chi: it is gentle and relaxing, a non-impact activity suitable for all ages and nearly all condition of health; it is fluid and uniform in movement - there are no sudden stops and starts as in many sports; it is circular and cyclical, the forms bringing you through a series of smooth movements to finish back where you started; and it is integrated and complete, gentle working the whole body, exercising the mind and powers of concentration and breathing techniques, while working on the inner organs at the same time.

It is also the most popular type of exercise that uniquely combines breathing, mind, body movements and consciousness all together. Without these qualities, it is just like any other exercise. The training method will generate large amount of natural Chi energy without external manipulation. Therefore it complements health and allows one to achieve years of quality lifestyle.

It is said in Tai Chi that where the mind goes, the Chi goes and the body follows. Tai Chi stimulates the blood flow and nervous system. When combined with the breathe and governed by the mind, Chi will follow. Chi is an intrinsic energy or life form generated during Tai Chi. When the Chi flow, movement follow. Accquiring this skill is the goal in the practice of Tai Chi

Why is functional training important for Tai Chi?

In our daily life, virtually every movement we make engages the entire body in all the three planes of movements - Sagittal (forward or backward) , Frontal (side to side) and Transverse (rotational).

Very often, most exercises only involve the movement of the body in a single plane of motion. While these are great total body exercises, planar exercises which involve all the three different planes of movement should be incorporated into your functional program so as to complement the other training you are doing.

We choose different training equipment for functional training to prepare our clients' total body conditioning based on their progression. Then, applying all these skills into Tai Chi practice will enhance the learning and optimise the benefits in a much shorter duration.

In Tai Chi, all the movements are designed to be functional that trains the body in all planes of movement, which is the same way the body is designed to do. On top of that, practicing Tai Chi makes you become more aware of your own body movements through its slow and continuous movements. As you age, muscles will be lost if we do not use them and the ability to perform daily activities become more critical, this is even so when we want to avoid injury and enjoy quality of life.

Who can benefit from Tai Chi?

Tai Chi has benefited the life of many people, from children to adults and all the way to senior citizens. Whether you are just beginning an exercise regime, recovering from rehabilitation or have been actively involved with regular physical activities, NewAgeTaichi approach is one that aims to foster a healthy and fit mind and body, rather than wearing and tearing it down through misuse or overuse.

Imagine your body as a container consisting of 206 bones supported by ligaments, tendons and with more than 600 muscles. This is what supports the body and keeps us standing upright. However, without proper regular posture alignment and exercise workout, the human skeletal support system will slowly weaken as we age, and muscles will also start to lose its strength, causing the body to collapse inward and iterally shrinking. Tai Chi aims to change all that.

The low impact of Tai Chi fitness tackles proper posture alignment, core stability, centering, breathing and graceful movements. It trains and develop core muscles so that it may protect the spine, maintain good body posture and boost overall well beings.

What is the focus of NewAgeTaichi?

We strongly believe that each individual is unique and as such, our Tai Chi fitness program is always uniquely customised based on each individual needs. NewAgeTaichi fitness program helps to prevent or eliminate injury and pain such as the knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, soreness and fatigue which is often due to poor postural habits and sedentary lifestyle.

Conditioning your mind is just as important as conditioning your body to enjoy quality of life. Through the application of our systematic Tai Chi proper postural alignment and exercise physiology conditioning into your daily activities, let NewAgeTaichi help you to focus your mind, brighten your spirit and bringing to you a lifelong fitness regime.

CREATING A POSITIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

In NewAge, we are committed to creating a Great Positive and lasting experience for our clients. We don't simply teach Tai Chi. The teaching of Tai Chi is merely the stage we use to deliver an experience designed to entice clients to come back for more

But there is really no reduntant knowledge in the pursuit of Tai Chi study. Learn as much as you can and you will reap the benefits of a lifetime. Make it a lifetime inquiry and I am sure that it will enrich your personal Tai Chi practice and physical well-being. Even we as Tai Chi coaches never "know everything", that what we know will help us to teach in ways that prevent injury and enhance the practice of our students.

We are constantly upgrading ourselves to bring the best and safest teaching methods so that instead of relying on medication to relieve joint pains, let NewAge Tai Chi impart tips on providing and restoring function as much as possible with sensibly graded and controlled Tai Chi exercise, without aggravating the old joint or back injuries nor creating new ones.
